Image via WikipediaOn September 11, 2001, the unthinkable occurred. As we sat stunned before our television sets, we watched in horror as the World Trade Center towers were attacked. We watched as they caught fire and then collapsed. At the same time, another plane was crashing into the Pentagon, and yet another, destined for the White House, was wrested from the control of the terrorists by a group of passengers and crew enough to crash it into a field in Pennsylvania. When the dust and smoke cleared, nearly 3000 Americans were dead and numerous others injured. We cannot afford to forget the events of that day. We cannot forget the sacrifices made.
