Thank You, Then Please

I remember reading a story several years ago that has stuck with me since. I’m sharing it with you now, because it’s wonderful food for thought.

In early November, a woman took her two sons with her to a store and while she was conducting her business her sons went to look at the seasonal aisle. When she found them, they were standing staring the the merchandise there. On one end there was a small selection of Halloween items on clearance. The rest of the shelves were filled with Christmas merchandise. The woman asked one of the boys what he was thinking. He said, “Where is the Thanksgiving stuff? They forgot about Thanksgiving. Mom, you have to tell them. Don’t they know you’re supposed to say thank you before you ask for more?”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.
